Is Reddit Supposed To Sound Like Read It Or Read It?

So today I learned that reddit is supposed to sound like read it and not read it, but even after i read it I wondered what is the difference between read it and read it. It's ok to say you read it on reddit but you don't read it while on reddit you read it when you left reddit, so read it makes sense only after leaving reddit. O, now I understand, you are only allowed to talk about reddit after you read it on reddit. Got it?
